Harbor Our Shore

The tide brings it in. We carry it out.

Oak & Harbor's annual shoreline cleanup, held every year on the last Saturday in June.

Where it started · June 27, 2026

One morning. One small crew. 2,800 pounds.

A week before the Fourth, a small crew of neighbors met at Monitor-Merrimac Overlook Park and Beach in Newport News. With the city's approval, they spent four hours clearing months of washed-up trash, debris, and seaweed so the beach was ready for the holiday.
